And so the day is finally here, our school 50th Golden Jubilee, pretty cool eh? This is my first time to witness such a big event in my school. Since its my last year so i decided to take part in something and i did. Our English teacher told us to split up into groups and do something related to english for the event. My group consist of 9 people and 3 of us are going to do a dressup with the title “Who am i?”, or in other words “cosplay”. LOL but not exactly cosplay la, just that this is related to english and the costume are not like cosplay costume.

To be honest, i was quite lazy when it comes to finding information and so i just told my leader “Si Hui” that i’ll do anything she ask me to do excluding finding informations and she decided! At first! yeah i feel very relaxed since i got nothing to do. Time passes by and the big event is coming closer, and i got tricked by the devil! She got into me into something weird and gay? but fun at the same time. =D I won’t say much, check out the pictures for yourself. So yea on the 19th of April, every subject departments were getting ready since the deputy minister of education is coming to visit us. Blablabla~ i was actually doing something in the physics department too but i was stuck in the english department most of the time. The school was quite empty since those students who are not involve in the whole event don’t need to come to school. And so this is what we did for the english department.

So you can guess who are we acting as already? Well here are the answers. Im acting as CleoPetra, Weechoon as Othello and Vuiboon as Macbeth. I shave my moustache for this role play since im acting as a queen. Well you may think that me or weechoon looks gay but we are not GAY! Its actually quite fun during the make up. The english department was the first department to be visited by the guests of honour and our booth was the first one too! So Linda asked the deputy minister to pick a paper and they are not allowed to open it! Linda will be opening it and whispering to us that who got picked. The person that got picked will say out a few quotes of the 3 famous characters. After that we walk out of the curtain ending it with “Who am i?” Unfortunately the deputy minister picked the paper with Cleopetra in it and so yea, i came out from the curtain. I tell you ah! the deputy minsiter like went back one step and starting laughing and he ended up guessing who am i after a few hints. After that, other guests of honour pick the papers and only me and vuiboon got picked. Weechoon didnt get picked at all =S. Im suprised that all the people who picked us can actually guess who we are. Thats pretty cool. And guess what? Today our head english teacher told us that our group did a great job! She said that the deputy minister told her that he was very impressed and the dressing up idea was very imaginative and yea i told my group about that awesome comment and a smiley face appears =).

And so we all had fun that day. We only dress up until around noon when all the guest of honour goes back. There were a few people calling me aqua or gay? ahaha don’t bother don’t care but i know some are just kidding. After that we all just hang out and went around the whole school checking out other subject departments. It sure was a enjoyable day. I only remove my make up at 3+ since its a once in a lifetime event.

Si hui may not be a devil after all. kekeke, i shall write about the 50th anniversary dinner in the next post so see you till then. =D

Another fascinating anime!

My exams are like in 2 weeks time and im still doing this? WTF! Unfortunately i won’t be blogging for some time since my exams are near but i do have save some drafts which i’ve written last time so yea i’ll just come online and publish the draft and i will off my computer after that in order to study! Banzai! So anyways i’ve just finished watching this nice lovely anime last night. It was Lustrous Realm who introduce this anime to me though.

Summary

The story starts with a guy call Shinichiro, a student who goes to school like any other high school students. Shinichiro being forced to perform Muhiga dancing is living in what would be a dream come true for most high school boys, but for him is mostly a frustration. A well liked girl in school named Hiromi has lived in his house for a year along with his family. Her father was a close friend with his family, and when he die, they immediately took her in and treated her as a family. She is popular and well liked, always smiles and talented in sports but Shinichiro knows that in the inside she is always crying. Yet he cannot bring up the nerve to talk to her even in his own home. She, too, is quiet and withdrawn in their house, quite unlike at school. Shinichiro is also distracted by teasing from his friend Nobuse for watching Hiromi from afar. Shinichiro then bumps into Isurugi Noe, a weird girl with different thinking unlike any other girls. They started hanging out together and a lot of things happen along the whole story.

Well now to talk about my thoughts on this anime! Gotta say its one hell of a romance anime. To be honest, its so much better than Myself; Yourself. Plus Noe is so ADORABLE! Although shes kinda weird when she talks about Raigomaru or Jibeta but still! shes the cutest in this anime. As for Hiromi, she is pretty and strong too since she kept a lot of sorrow within herself. This anime contains a good storyline, drama and their drawings are very good too!

The opening and ending theme never fail to impress me. Both are really good and im currently addicted to both the songs and i love the CHIBI mode of all the characters in the ending song. Seriously you all gotta listen to it. Enjoy!

Hmmm lets see, i shall rate this anime 8.5/10. The ending was kinda disappointing for me though. Its not like im saying this anime has a bad ending. Its just that somehow it didnt work out the way i wanted it to be. I won’t tell you the spoilers so you guys gotta watch it yourself to see why i think its kinda disappointing for me. Im sure many other fellow otakus who’ve watch this anime would have the same thinking as me but still i think that this anime has a great storyline. Noe-Chan is so cute!! Mochi (餅) is a Japanese rice cake made of glutinous rice pounded into paste and molded into shape. In Japan it is traditionally made in a ceremony called mochitsuki. In the Philippines, it is called palitao in Tagalog and is coated with sesame seeds and grated coconut. Mochi is very sticky and somewhat tricky to eat. Every new year, the Japanese media reprts how many people die from choking on mochi, usually elderly. Because it is so sticky, it is difficult to dislodge via the Heimlich maneuver and lifesaving experts say that a vacuum cleaner is efficient for stuck mochi. Hmm never tasted one before, would love to try it someday when i go to Japan and hope that i won’t chock. XD

Now the Japanese came up with a way of making an edible food, Moffles! Japanese pastry connoisseurs and technology fans have found a new obsession: the “moffle”, a cross-over between a waffle and Japan’s traditional “mochi” rice cake. Made by toasting a rectangular slab of “mochi” paste in a Belgian waffle maker or a special moffle machine, the moffle is served as a dessert with ice-cream or chocolate sauce, or as a savory snack with cheese, ham or cod roe. Mochi, mostly sold as soft, round little cakes, are among Japan’s most popular sweets, although every year there are reports of elderly people choking on the chewy, sticky mass.

My very first pet “Lion”

Yesterday Lion was sick, trembling with one eye close, couldnt walk nicely and hops around. I thought it was a fever so i asked my dad to call the vet. Today dad brought lion to the vet, doctor said it was ok, nothing wrong with it. Finished tuition today, entered my dad’s car and it was goodbye.. I then went speechless.

I’m sure many of you all have heard of the word “cosplay”. Well basically cosplay means you dress up as someone who looks like a character from an anime, games and many others. To be honest, i can’t think of any ways to define the term “cosplay” since everyone knows what is it already so i guess i shall let wiki do the talking in the end.

Cosplay (コスプレ), short for “costume play”, is a Japanese subculture centered on dressing as characters from manga, anime, tokusatsu, and video games, and, less commonly, Japanese live action television shows, fantasy movies, Japanese pop music bands, Visual Kei, fantasy music stories (such as stories by the band Sound Horizon), and novels. However, in some circles, “cosplay” has been expanded to mean simply wearing a costume.

The most specific anecdote about the origin of the word “cosplay” was that Nov Takahashi (from a Japanese studio called Studio Hard) coined the term “cosplay” as a contraction of the English-language words “costume play” while she was attending the 1984 Los Angeles Science Fiction Worldcon. There are also 2 emerging cosplay magazines outside of Japan, USA’s AniCoz and Mexico’s Cosplaymix. An English digital version of COSMODE is also in the making. While in the working industry, theres even a job for cosplay such as Kipi who is a 20 year old girl. She was awarded the Most Beautiful/Best Cosplay Actress of 2006 by China’s offical cosplay association. She is also the official cosplay character representation of Haruhi Suzumiya. In Japanese, the term can also mean the use of costumes for sexual purposes, in which case the “play” refers not to dressing up, but sexual play while dressed up. Firstly, his costume is really cool together with his sword and i think i can somehow make my hair looks like Ichigo’s so i don’t need to get myself a wig. Move on from the anime Series to the manga series of Naruto! Fear not!
this post won’t be a review about the manga series.
Just gonna explain about me moving on to the manga series.

I’m now at chapter 316 in the manga series. I started downloading from the part where naruto got his fourth tail and read and read and read till here. Finally downloaded from chapter 290+ until chapter 394? Took me 2 days to finish downloading all those chapters T_T. Oh well, finally i can relax and slowly read. Ok lets see, how come i decided to follow the manga series instead of the anime series?

• Patient. (Each episode comes out once a week and i just realise how slow is the anime series!)
• 24 minutes of one episode can be all about one conversation while the manga finishes the conversation in one chapter.
• Somehow i saw something when i visited my friend’s blog and yeah, i know whats gonna happened already so i might as well just follow the manga series.
• At the same time, i’m also waiting for bleach every week and i rather download bleach than naruto as bleach is so exciting now!! cant wait for episode 166 which is gonna released on the 9th of April? zzz
• I’m also having my exam this year, so i can read manga in a few minutes rather than spend 24 minutes watching.
• I can use the 24 minutes to watch other anime.

I guess thats all. Although there won’t be any animation, music or colours in the manga series but its still quite enjoyable to read though. Well i understand that some people hates manga because they are spoilers but hey! like one of my friend said. Without manga, anime wouldn’t exist! so don’t complain so much =P. I gotta be honest that last time you can say that i used to hate manga because i think they are spoilers too? But now i’m switching sides! A phrase by my friend makes me wanna download other manga series such as Vampire Knight as shes so into it ^^. At the same time, sometimes when you download the manga, there will be some fanart or parody as a bonus like the picture above. Pretty cute eh? Shikamaru with Temari. XD Oh right, not forgetting to mention where i download the manga from. I downloaded them from Naruto Central. I got the link from Lustrous Realm though so yea thanks ^^. Most likely i won’t be writing reviews on manga series cause many people are doing it? But i may write reviews when i feel like it =D. Ah! finished another anime again.

If you usually read my blog, you will notice that im a very slow person when it comes to anime. Like this anime ended like 3 months ago? and i just finished watching it last night only. Well im the kind of person who likes to watch anime slowly and i seriously cannot wait each episode to be released once a week just like bleach or naruto, but i’m still manage to watch bleach patiently ^^. So anyways i just finished watching the series Myself; Yourself last night and yes it was great! Just being frank, that its just a normal high school life anime but i kinda like the story lines and how the story goes in each episode. I shall now write about the review of the anime.

The story starts with 5 childhood friends together. When Sana Hidaka is going to transfer to another school in Tokyo, four of his friends gave him a farewell party. Sana Hikada returns to his hometown after 5 years away living in Tokyo. Although there are a few changes in the town, but mostly remain the same. Sana decided to visit the Shrine on his first day and noticed a shrine maiden watching him. He went to school the next day and found out that the shrine maiden seems to be his childhood friend Nanaka Yatsushiro whom he gave a bracelet before he left and until now she still wears it. After getting used to living back in his hometown again, Sana Hikada began to found out the secrets and sorrow behind everyone’s smile.

I started watching this anime because most anime bloggers watches it? Zenical did introduce this anime to me. Thanks ^^ So yea, its only 13 episodes and i finished watching it last night! =P and yes it was a great anime. Good storylines and it kinda resemble a normal love life in high school. It kinda suck in some parts of the anime because Sana keeps doing things at the wrong time making Nanaka misunderstood things! But in the end, things just seem to get right again. Its quite a touching anime too as friends departs, friends reunite, heartache, memories of the past, friends departs again and love life. I shall rate it 8/10 for the whole anime.The opening theme and ending theme of the anime are great too! I guess i’m done with the reviews! quite short eh?
