Expensive Hotels?
Save $ for shopping in Japan?
Try Capsule Hotels!
Its cheap and convenient!

Whats a capsule hotel? Let wiki answer that for you.

A capsule hotel (カプセルホテル kapuseru hoteru) is a hotel system of extremely dense occupancy. Guest space is reduced in size to a modular plastic or fibre glass block roughly 2m by 1 m by 1.25 m, providing room to sleep, facilities range in entertainment offerings(most include a television, an electronic console, and wireless internet connection). These capsules are stacked side by side and two units top to bottom, with steps providing access to the second level rooms. Luggae is stored in a locker, usually somewhere outside of the hotel. Privacy is ensured by a curtain or a fibreglass door at the open end of the capsule. Wash rooms are communal and most hotels include restaurants, or at least vending machines, pools, and other entertainment facilities.

Capsule Hotels are earthquake proof

Pretty cool eh? The cost of one night in a capsule hotel is usually between $20 – $50 around 3000yen. Businessmen who couldnt go home always stay at capsule hotels since its cheap and late. Women aren’t often allowed in SOME capsule hotels due to security reasons. Ladies got their own private floor where men are not allowed to sleep there of course. Its also mainly popular among the tourists. Surely theres no private shower or bathroom for the guests since its damn cheap. Instead of private bathroom, they offer a large public bath or sauna for different genders. They also do provide some stuffs for you such as a dressing gown, towel, razor and lastly a toothbrush ^^. Bored in a capsule hotel? Theres the karaoke pub where you can hang out. You can sing and drink XD. Other facilities such as simple kitchen room are also available. In each capsule, theres a little control panel. Theres an alarm clock and buttons used for the lights and TV channels. Some capsules are provided with adult video. Well you gotta pay extra in the paybox next to the TV though. Of course not forgetting your own privacy. Theres this curtain that covers your capsule completely so theres nothing to worry about. Would love to try staying a night there when im in Japan and here are the pictures of capsule hotels.

lol these actually exist, the way of the future, wonder what the deluxe capsule is like. Also its quite cool that even though the hotel building may be destroyed in the event of an earthquake you can sleep soundly and expect to be rescued from the rubble in one piece the next day.
